The British Open Paramotor Championships will take place between the 8th and 13th of July at Bicester Aerodrome
The site sits on the north-east side Bicester town and 14 miles north-east of Oxford. It has a rich history in aviation, becoming the flying field for the Royal Flying Corps Bicester in 1916 and RAF Bicester in 1926.
With miles of beautiful open countryside to the north and west to the Cotswolds, the central location offers access to a huge area, largely free from airspace restrictions.
The full airfield site is 400 acres, so even though we’ll be flying from one part of it, our flying deck is nearly 9 acres in area, sitting alongside a sizeable 4 acre area for camping and admin.
Bicester is roughly equidistant from London, Bristol and Birmingham with good access for both national and international participants and visitors. (Eg, less than 3 hours from Dover, 1 hour from London by train or car).
