The Annual General Meeting of the BHPA Paramotor Competitions Panel will take place between 20.30 and 22.00 BST on Wednesday 20th September, online on Microsoft Teams. We cordially invite members of the competitive paramotor community to join us for it.
Members of the committee will provide short reports on their respective activity this year, and respond to feedback from pilots on the 2023 Open Championships. We will outline our plans for 2024, and open the floor to discussion and feedback, to help direct our activity next year.
The current version of the constitution needs formal approval following recent editorial updates to reflect our status as a formal panel of the BHPA. The updated version for approval can be found on this link.
Following our established cycle of committee members serving for two year blocks, the following positions are up for re-election this year.
Chair (currently Barney Townsend)
Training officer (currently Ric Womersley)
Sponsorship Officer (currently Andy Shaw)
Secretary (currently Andy Phillips)
All of these serving members are standing for re-election, but other eligible members of the community may also propose themselves for one of these roles. If there are more than one candidate for a position, a private vote will be held at the AGM. Candidates for committee membership, please check the eligibility criteria in the constitution before putting yourselves forward.
Members of the community are invited to submit proposals for discussion and if necessary voting, under Any Other Business. Any such proposals, or prospective candidates for committee membership, should be submitted in writing to contact@ppgcomps.co.uk, no later than 15 days from the date of this announcement (7th September). Please use the subject line “AGM Proposal”.
Please note that as we are a panel of the BHPA, only BHPA members have voting rights. Non-BHPA members are also welcome to join us as observers. For online voting, we need to verify BHPA membership numbers in advance. Both members and non-members wishing to attend should register using the short form linked on the button below, no later than Wednesday 13th of September, to give us time to check membership numbers. Registered participants will then be sent the link to join the meeting.
