Daniel Jones awarded RAeC Bronze medal

Daniel Jones awarded RAeC Bronze Medal in 2022 honours.

Warm congratulations to the current British National Paramotor Champion, and Paramotor Competitions Committee Treasurer, Daniel Jones, who has been awarded a prestigious Royal Aero Club Bronze Medal for “meritorious achievements in aviation or for those who have made a major contribution to the work of the Royal Aero Club, its members or to a field of aviation”.

In 2022 Dan organised and completed a sponsored solo flight from John O’Groats to Lands’ End flight in eight days, raising nearly £15,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK. This event gained significant positive publicity for the sport and was featured in national media.

In the same year, Dan went on to win the British Open Paramotor Championships, having first competed just two years earlier as a BHPA Club Pilot in training. He documented his progress through the competition scene in an excellent series of instructional videos, which are available to view here. He also represented GB on world stage as both British Team Leader and Pilot at the FAI World Paramotor Championships in Brazil.

Dan’s progress in our sport demonstrates that with enthusiasm, planning and dedication it’s entirely possible to achieve impressive goals. He is an excellent ambassador for the sport and we look forward to seeing what the future has in store for him. This year he will be defending his title at the British Open Paramotor Championships 2023.
